The Right Question

Class 11 · Science Stream

Arnab C. — Chose Product Design over Engineering

Challenge

Arnab's family assumed he would take up JEE and become an engineer. He was doing well in mathematics but every conversation about the future felt like a chore. He was drawing in the margins of his notebooks — but no one in his circle treated design as a serious career.

Assessment

Our psychometric battery showed strong visual-spatial reasoning, high openness, and a clear pull toward artistic and investigative interest codes. Aptitude for mathematics was above average, not exceptional. Design careers scored 91% compatibility; core engineering scored 62%.

Guidance

We ran two joint sessions with Arnab and his parents. His father, initially resistant, was walked through the actual salary trajectories, top design colleges (NID, NIFT, Srishti, Pearl Academy) and the career ladders at product-first companies like Zomato, Swiggy and Ola.

Career Roadmap

We planned Class 11 & 12 with a light JEE prep as a safety net, alongside a 12-month portfolio plan — 3 industrial design projects, one internship at a UX studio in Bengaluru, and NID/UCEED preparation.

Outcome

Arnab cleared UCEED in his first attempt and joined the industrial design program at a top Indian design school. His father now recommends Future Elevators to other parents in his office.

Stream Selection

Class 10 → Class 11

Riya B. — Chose Humanities → CLAT prep

Challenge

Riya's Class 10 board results were exceptional. School and family were pushing Science; she wanted Humanities but couldn't articulate why. The house was tense, and Riya had stopped talking about the future altogether.

Assessment

Her assessment showed very high verbal reasoning, exceptional critical-thinking scores, and pronounced social-investigative interests. Careers in Law, Public Policy and Journalism scored above 90%.

Guidance

Three sessions across two weeks — one with Riya alone, one with her parents, and a final alignment session together. We shared salary and admission data for CLAT-track careers and top national law universities.

Career Roadmap

We designed a 4-year plan: Humanities with Economics and Political Science, CLAT coaching from Class 11, a moot-court and debate portfolio, and a shortlist of NLUs.

Outcome

Riya is now in Class 12, mock-CLAT scores in the top 5%, aiming for NLSIU Bangalore. Her parents call it 'the best 3 sessions we ever paid for'.

Course Correction

Class 12 · Repeat Year

Sourav R. — Focused NEET prep + backup roadmap

Challenge

Sourav had scored below the NEET cutoff in his first attempt. The family was in crisis mode — should he repeat, drop medicine entirely, or accept a private college? Anxiety was affecting the whole household.

Assessment

Interest and personality profiles confirmed a genuine medical vocation, not just family pressure. Reasoning was strong, but our diagnostic mocks showed weak biology fundamentals and time-management issues under exam pressure.

Guidance

One long session with Sourav alone (mental-health first), then a joint session with his parents to set realistic expectations for the repeat year.

Career Roadmap

A structured 12-month repeat plan: weekly diagnostic tests, a specific biology tutor, weekly counselling check-ins, and a Plan-B built around allied health sciences and biotech, so Sourav didn't feel he was betting his entire life on one exam.

Outcome

Sourav cleared NEET in his second attempt and is now in his second year at a government medical college. He credits the mental-health calibration as much as the study plan.

Ritwika M. — UK admit with 60% scholarship

Challenge

Ritwika knew she wanted to study Psychology abroad, but her family was worried about cost. Their budget capped at ₹20L/year — well below sticker prices in the US and UK.

Assessment

Our profile-strength audit showed a strong academic record but weak positioning — no research projects, no signature story in her Statement of Purpose draft.

Guidance

Six sessions over three months: profile diagnosis, SOP re-writing, LORs briefing, mock interviews, and a scholarship-first university shortlist.

Career Roadmap

We shortlisted 8 UK universities strong in Psychology with generous merit-aid, coached her through the applications, and helped her lead a research-adjacent volunteer project she could cite in her SOP.

Outcome

Ritwika received 5 admits, including a top-30 UK university with a 60% merit scholarship — bringing net cost inside the family's budget.

The Right Track

Class 11 · Commerce

Aritra T. — CA vs CFA — chose CFA + finance track

Challenge

Aritra was defaulting into CA prep because his cousins had done it. He wasn't excited about it, but couldn't articulate a different plan.

Assessment

Strong numerical and analytical reasoning, but very high openness and low tolerance for repetitive procedural work — a poor match for a large chunk of the CA articleship experience.

Guidance

One session focused entirely on unpacking the daily work of CA vs Investment Banking vs Corporate Finance vs Product Analytics.

Career Roadmap

We designed a 5-year plan around BBA at a top private university, CFA Level 1 in the final year of undergrad, and internships aimed at buy-side and product analytics roles.

Outcome

Aritra is in Year 2 of his BBA, cleared CFA Level 1 last winter and just accepted a summer internship offer from a mid-market investment firm.
